Green Sprout Cloth Trainers Giveaway

Kylee is pretty much potty trained during the day.  If she's distracted by playing I have to remind her (and occassionally take her kicking and screaming to the bathroom) to go to the potty.  But otherwise, she's pretty good about it.  She'll even go sometimes by herself without me needing to be in there with her.  I'm always very proud when she disappears and I go to find her and she's sitting on the potty.

I still put her in diapers to take a nap and a night.  We're not ready for that milestone quite yet.  Especially since Kylee still sleeps in a crib.  I also am not so brave yet to take her out in public with just her underwear on.  I have this fear of her having a huge accident in a place that isn't so easy to clean.  I'd hate for her to be the kid that ruins the fun for everyone.  But I also hate having to put her in pull ups because she gets that comfort of a diaper and will sometimes get lazy and just pee in it.  So I wanted to find something that would contain a tiny accident or minor leaking but not act as a diaper.

Allow me to introduce you to Green Sprouts cloth trainers!

We received the girly print retro cars to review.  Rena (the owner of Green Sprouts) was so awesome to work with!  She answered any questions I had, asked for suggestions, and shipped these trainers to us so fast!  It was great!

Green Sprouts cloth trainers are made of cotton interlock with a full layer of organic bamboo velour in the wetzone.  There is also an additional layer of bamboo fleece sewn into the wetzone.  The elastic arond the waist and legs is very soft and doesn't leave any red marks.  We received the size 2T-3T but additional sizes are available.  You can also find additional prints at GreenSproutBaby.com

So what do I love about these trainers?  Well first of all.. the print is SUPER cute and perfect for my car loving daughter!  These trainers have been washed 4 times and show no fading.  They haven't really shrunk in size either.  I love that the elastic isn't super tight so my 20 month old daughter can pull them up and down on her own with no issues.  It's also really great that if she does have a small accident these trainers contain it with no problem.  I used a medicine dropper and determined these trainers can hold about 12-15mL of fluid before leaking. They will also help slow down any major accidents.  I have no complaints about our Green Sprouts cloth trainers.  They're very reasonable in price at $9 per pair and are made with quality that assures me they'll still be going when it comes to potty training any future children.

So awesome readers that you are... how would you like to win a pair of Green Sprouts trainers?
Rena has offered a pair of trainers in your choice of size and print to one lucky person!

I would get a size 2T for my little guy. He's not quite ready for potty training, but will be working on it soon. I think I would pick the I'm Shellfish print... too cute!

My best advice is to just be patient and try not to be discouraged if your little one regresses.

Make sure you have a comfortable kid potty if they aren't sitting on the big potty! My son will actually sit on his potty now with the new one we just got!

My son would love the Retro Cars, although the Teal OOga is really cute, too. I couldn't find a sizing chart, but I think 2T-3T would be perfect.

Don't be afraid to offer rewards for using the potty. My son will pee frequently for one mini Teddy Graham cookie and never fails to do #2 on the potty because he wants a mini marshmallow.

Right now we are working on potty training with my son. Many nights he wants to use both the big potty and his little one. Tonight after actually pooping on the big one I left the bathroom and a couple of minutes later we found him pooping on his little one! He was so proud of himself!

my 2 older kids both decided to PT right when i had babies 2 and 3 respectively. there's such dignity post c-section nursing a newborn in one arm and hoisting a little not quite 2 year old onto the potty - and then having to sing the peepee on the potty song while doing the peepee on the potty dance. sometimes i still miss my dignity :o)

Unknown said...

Hmm not sure if this is a funny story- but definitely a memorable one... Just yesterday- my potty training daughter pooped on her bed- then PAINTED the walls with it... I have never seen anything like it... I was just doing some dishes up.. she couldn't have been in there for more than 7 minutes!

I haven't gone through potty training with my daughter yet, but the one piece of advice I know of is to avoid using Pullups, because it can make it harder to potty train your child since they don't feel wet in them.

I was actually potty trained (for #2) when I was only a few months old because my parents did Elimination Communication. But I still knew how to use #1 as a weapon. I remembered peeing on a neighbor's bike because he did something that ticked me off. Yes, my bladder can be used as a weapon :) Thank you for this giveaway! August 15th is my birthday. When I potty trained my oldest (who is now 5 1/2) I always left the smaller potty seat out in the open for her to use. I used stickers as an incentive but what really motivated her was seeing her friend getting stuff for going on the potty..she liked that idea. What also helped was me constantly reminding her every 2 hours to go to the potty. Little by little she was fully trained by 2 1/2.

daddy thought it was much funnier than mommy (probably because i knew i'd be cleaning up the mess), but we were letting our son air out. he knows when has to go and usually starts holding himself, however this time was different. this time he just started going, shooting it in his toy box and then he decides to run his hand back and forth through the stream! my husband is across the room laughing hysterically, which only encourages the behavior. I'm saying, "STOP!" when he looks at me, grins and goes, "he-he!"

One time our two year old who is back and forth with potty training was standing on her potty seat, with the lid closed, without a diaper or underwear on. I told her to make sure she goes on the potty if she has to and I look over to see her literally pooping on the potty lid. Needless to say I wont tell her to "go on the potty" again.
